Benefits of a Research University

While there are many urologists in private practice, there is a significant benefit to having your diagnosis and treatment performed at a university-based medical center by an academic urologist.

Having medical residents is a benefit to both patients and faculty because they are required to attend weekly conferences, making them knowledgeable about the latest in urologic research and innovative urologic treatments.

Our faculty must keep up their surgical skills in order to train residents. Operative cases are rarely performed without complete discussion by faculty and residents. Our faculty is under constant scrutiny, evaluated by other faculty members and by their fellows and residents.

Working as a team with clinicians. our researchers are striving to improve the understanding of urologic diseases and translate laboratory findings to the clinic.
